My name is Hosshin Ananda and I am the director of the not for profit organisation Heartmind. I am a trained Sivananda Yoga Teacher and have been studying eastern spiritual practices for the past 32 years. I initially trained as a Mindfulness Teacher (MBCT) at Bangor University and then went on to study and ordain into Zen Buddhism in 2015. I have spent most of my working life serving people in the NHS in mental health and drug services, and have since 2010 been running mindfulness courses, weekly classes and retreats in Derbyshire, both with the general public and with various organisations, most lately being asked to head up a three year pioneering project to introduce Mindfulness into Policing with Derbyshire Police Constabulary. I have also studied and have a passion for Organic Farming, Permaculture and Sustainable Rural Development at degree level, all of which I try to put into practice here at Heartmind Retreat. As part of my spiritual service to friends and supporters of Heartmind, I offer one to one sessions both online and in person sharing the benefits of a compassionate heart based approach to mindfulness meditation that draws upon the centuries old wisdom teachings from Zen Buddhism, backed by the latest science research into fields of neuroscience, consciousness and human happiness.
