The XIN XIN MING is a poem attributed to the Third Chinese Chan (Zen) Patriarch Jianzhi Sengchan and one of the earliest Chinese Chan expressions of the Buddhist mind training that Hearmind and Buddha are One. It is a tribute to the Way of emotional equanimity and the truth of non-duality, and is considered as one of the most important texts of the early Chan tradtion, drawing on the Wisdom Sutras (Avatamsaka Sutra and Lankavatra Sutra) to express the essential unity of opposites and the basic nature of emptiness.
